Editorial Policy

This page explains how we work, so you know what our words are worth.

Independence

We publish independent editorial content. We do not accept payment, free product, or any other consideration in exchange for a favorable review or a specific score. Advertising and affiliate arrangements, where present, are kept separate from editorial judgment and never dictate what we write.

How we review and score

Reviews are based on first-hand smoking experience. We assess construction, draw, burn, and the flavor journey across the smoke, and we apply a consistent scoring approach so scores are comparable over time. A score reflects our honest assessment on the day — not a manufacturer's marketing.

Accuracy and sourcing

We aim for factual, verifiable information. Guides are researched and written to be genuinely useful rather than to game search engines. Where facts are contested or vary by source, we say so.

Corrections

We fix errors. If you find one, contact us and we'll correct it. Significant changes to published articles are recorded, and for meaningful updates we note that a piece has been revised.

Use of AI and tools

We may use software tools to help draft, structure, and check content. Editorial responsibility for accuracy and tone rests with us regardless of the tools involved.

Community content

Comments and community stories reflect their authors, not CigarDesk. We moderate for safety and quality but do not endorse individual opinions shared by readers.
