About the Edmundo line
Launched by Habanos S.A. in 2004, the Edmundo was named for Edmundo Dantès, the protagonist of Alexandre Dumas's The Count of Monte Cristo. It gave the storied Cuban Montecristo marque a modern, thicker format at 52 ring gauge, answering demand for fuller-bodied smokes. Rolled in Havana entirely from Cuban Vuelta Abajo tobaccos, wrapper, binder, and filler all Cuban, it delivers the classic Montecristo profile of coffee, cocoa, cedar, and a tangy spice with more heft than the slimmer No. 2. The Edmundo and its shorter Petit Edmundo sibling remain core Cuban regular-production cigars.
